1. The service
WatchsParty includes the website (accounts, room codes, invites, downloads) and the Windows desktop app used for synced watching. Features may change as we ship updates. Some experiences are available only in the desktop app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding agreement. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when registering.
3. Accounts
- Keep your credentials confidential and your contact email reachable.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt to disrupt rooms, or violate these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not harass others, spam rooms, or attempt to access accounts or systems you do not own.
- Do not reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with WatchsParty infrastructure.
- Do not use WatchsParty to distribute malware or unlawful content.
5. Your content & media
You are solely responsible for media you play or share through the product. WatchsParty does not grant you rights to copyrighted films or shows. Only use content you have the legal right to watch. Room chat and display names you submit may be visible to other participants in that room.
6. Invites & rooms
Room codes and invite links can be forwarded by anyone who receives them. Hosts should treat codes like semi-public access keys. We are not responsible for guests who join because a link was shared broadly.
7. Desktop software
The Windows installer is provided “as is.” Keep the app updated. System requirements and supported formats may change between releases (see Changelog). You may not redistribute modified builds of the app.
8. Availability
We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, or third-party failures may affect the website, rooms, or downloads.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WatchsParty is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
