1. Who we are

WatchsParty (“we”, “us”) provides a website for accounts, room invites, and downloads, plus a desktop application for synced watch parties. This policy explains what information we process and why.

2. Information we collect

• Account data — display name, email address, and credentials you submit when you register or sign in.
• Room & product data — room codes, room names, host/participant display names, and chat messages sent in web rooms you use on the site.
• Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, approximate region, pages visited, download events, and basic diagnostics needed to keep the service reliable.
• Support messages — information you send through Contact or waitlist forms.

3. How we use information

• Create and secure your account
• Operate rooms, invites, and chat on the website
• Deliver the desktop installer and product updates
• Prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
• Respond to support requests
• Understand aggregate product usage so we can improve WatchsParty

4. What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not use your watch-party chat to build advertising profiles.
• We do not require access to your personal media library beyond what the desktop app needs to play files you choose locally.

5. Sharing

We may share limited data with infrastructure providers that host the website, deliver files, or help us detect abuse — only as needed to run WatchsParty. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the service.

6. Retention

Account and room data are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security and dispute handling. Server chat logs and diagnostic events may be retained for shorter operational windows. You can request deletion of account-related data via Contact.

7. Security

We use industry-standard protections appropriate for a consumer web and desktop product. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a unique password and keep the desktop app updated.

8. Children

WatchsParty is intended for users 18+. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 18.

9. Your choices

• Update display name and preferences in Account settings
• Log out of web sessions anytime
• Contact us to ask questions or request account deletion
